North Sails One Design is happy to announce the sail development program for the International 14 class.

We have picked up the designs from both the English main and Australian spinnaker as a starting point for this project. Our designers have used the tools such Flow Membrane Technology and experience from similar profiled sails in the Americas Cup to ensure that the main will perform at in all wind conditions. We have gone after more of a square head and straight leech in the mainsail. Sailing in 15 knots, the sail bladed out and the square head was doing the designed “auto twist” perfectly making it a very forgiving sail in all conditions. Sailing in light air or chop, we can get all the power we need keep the boat on plane. As with any development program, there will be minor changes in the near future, but we are very happy with the way sail came out of the box!

The spinnaker is an Australian design that has been proven to be one of the fastest sails headed down hill. This sail is ready to get out on the water and start turning heads down wind.
